The Russian Bank for Small and Medium Enterprises Support (SME Bank) was established under the Federal Law No. 36-FZ dated February 22, 1999 «On the Federal Budget for 1999».
Legal Status: Open Joint Stock Company (OJSC).

Pursuant to the Federal law # 82-FZ dd. May 17, 2007 "On the Bank for Development" and the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation # 1766-r dd. December 7, 2007 "On Share Transfer to the Authorized Capital of Vnesheconombank" 100% of shares of the Russian Bank for Small and Medium Enterprises Support are owned by the State Corporation "Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affairs (Vnesheconombank)".
